Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC/EMI) Certification Program

EMC fields such as: bonding, shielding, grounding, EMI prediction, EMI analysis, conducted and radiated interference, lightning protection and more. Work on advanced technology systems and components in industries that include automotive, aerospace and military applications. Certified EMC personnel can add to their professional certification with the MIL-STD EMC Specialist Certification.

  • EMC Engineer/Associate Engineer
  • EMC Technician/Associate Technician
.

Military Standard (MIL-STD) EMC Specialist Certification Program

Is applicable to Military engineers and technicians practicing in EMC fields to address their specific needs. MIL-STD EMC Specialists who already hold, or who obtain an EMC Certification can add this credential as an endorsement to that certificate once all criteria have been met.

*Note: This certification is designed for those who already hold an EMC certification.

Electrostatic Discharge Control (ESD) Certification Program

is appropriate for personnel whose training and experience have primarily focused on problems, engineering design and corrective measures associated with minimizing or eliminating electrostatic discharge. ESDC personnel work on advanced technology, production and control systems and components in industries that include consumer manufacturing, automotive, aerospace and military applications. ESD Cert Categories:

  • ESD Enigineer/Associate Engineer
  • ESD Technician/Associate Technician

EMC Design Engineer Certification Program

is applicable to professional engineers practicing in EMC fields whose main responsibility is designing electronic circuits, components, sub systems and equipment to ensure EMC compliance. There are two levels of certification available depending upon experience: EMC Design Engineer and Senior EMC Design Engineer.

The EMC Design Engineer level is intended for new or recent graduates who are entering industry with a view to building a career in electronics design and have the knowledge to apply EMC principles to design for compliance.

The Senior EMC Design Engineer level is intended as an upgrade for EMC Design Engineers who have held that initial credential for at least three years. However, certification can be approved for applications for certification as a Senior EMC Design Engineer from practitioners who have at least 4 years practical work experience following their postsecondary education to degree level

Product Safety Design Certification Program

focuses on engineering and practice to reduce types of risk to persons, animals and property that have to be covered by a formal hazard analysis to meet the requirements of the relevant legislation. The ability to effectively manage product safety in design, manufacture, installation and operational use is a mandatory requirement of all world-wide product safety legislation.

A certified product safety engineer or technician typically develops and conducts tests to evaluate product safety levels and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate hazards: They establish procedures for detection and elimination of physical and electrical hazards and avoidance of potential toxic effects and other product hazards. They investigate causes of accidents, injuries, and illnesses resulting from product usage and develop solutions. They may also evaluate potential health hazards or damage which could result from misuse of products and apply engineering principles and product standards to improve safety. They may also participate in preparation of product usage and precautionary label instructions.

Product Safety Cert Categories:

  • Product Safety Design Engineer/Associate Engineer
  • Product Safety Design Technician/Associate Technician

Telecommunications Certification Program

is applicable to professionals practicing a wide range of telecommunications disciplines including photonic systems, PCS/PCN, cellular, satellite, LAN, WAN and many more. Telecommunications is the science and technology of communication (as opposed to processing of information) at a distance by electronic transmission of impulses, such as by telegraph, cable, telephone, radio, or television. The Telecommunication certification pertains to professionals involved in the science and practice of communications by electromagnetic means. Telecommunications Engineers and Technicians work throughout the Telephone/Communications Industry, Public/Utilities Industry, Airline Technology Industry, Oil/Gas Industry, Radio Communications and Telephone Systems for State and Local Municipalities and Broadcast Industry.
